Hey everyone, I've been following the Charles Lamont Payne case and can't shake the feeling of frustration at how much community involvement could potentially change not just his case but so many others. I've read about how law enforcement appealing for witnesses is a common scenario in Baltimore around that time, but it really makes me wonder how safety could improve if there was more trust and cooperation between the community and the police.
I know these issues are complex and rooted in systemic problems, but what do you all think could realistically be done to increase witness cooperation? It's painful to see so many families left without answers. Thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated. Let's brainstorm!
