I've been thinking a lot about the case of Andre Lee McNair and how it ties into the broader issue of media coverage, or lack thereof, for many victims of gun violence in Baltimore during that time. It's deeply troubling that cases like Andre's didn't receive the attention they deserved, both in terms of media coverage and investigative resources. This lack of visibility not only leaves families like Andre's without the closure they desperately need but also fails to put a spotlight on the systemic issues contributing to the violence.
I've seen this pattern in other cities too, where some cases get a lot of attention and others almost none, often because of socio-economic factors. If anyone here has any experience or insights on how communities or media can better prioritize these cases, I'd love to hear your thoughts. We all need to push for justice for Andre and others like him who were lost to such senseless violence. Keeping these stories alive is so important, so the victims are not just forgotten statistics.
