I’ve been reading through the discussions surrounding Leroy Taylor’s tragic death, and something that’s been on my mind is the role community resources could play in preventing these senseless acts of violence. Baltimore during this period was undoubtedly a challenging place, with many neighborhoods lacking access to the support systems necessary to tackle the root causes of crime. It’s so disheartening to see lives lost and families left in grief, knowing that maybe, just maybe, with more resources and stronger community ties, outcomes could be different. What do you all think about the impact of community resources in reducing crime? Could more funding and support have changed things for Leroy and countless others? It's a conversation worth having, especially for those of us who yearn for safer communities and justice for victims. Hoping for peace and healing for Leroy’s loved ones during such a difficult time.
