I recently stumbled upon the case of Deleane Briskey and her family, and it led me to think deeply about the systemic issues surrounding domestic violence. It is truly unimaginable what Santonio must have gone through and how strong he had to be to survive such a horror. It’s not just about the individuals involved but about the environment that allowed this to happen. Despite Marks' known history of violence, it seemed there was insufficient action taken to protect Deleane and her loved ones. This really drives home how crucial it is for communities and authorities to create effective support systems for victims of domestic abuse. We can't just move on from these tragedies without holding discussions on prevention and better intervention strategies. My heart goes out to Santonio and any family members left behind who have to navigate life after such an unimaginable loss. Let’s keep having these conversations and push for changes that could save lives in the future.

I recently moved to Atlanta. Never heard of this story before until I somehow end up dating Cyrano Mark's biological son. Cyrano has several children and now grandchildren of his own. Two of which have lived in this same area their whole lives. None of which he ever harmed as far as I know. How he could do that to someone elses kids while his were safe and sound, is beyond me. His son told me about this and I started researching.

I didn't know Cryrano Marks or anyone he killed. But the family he made and left behind is extremely psychologically damaged. The mother of his youngest children really lost her touch with reality after this and raised her sons alone and in delusion. The sons are nothing good now. Completely delusional because they were never told the truth about their Dad. I try to show him these articles and he says he only believes what his mom told him. Not this.

The mom told him a Completely different story. He left her for Ms Briskey but kept saying she and Cyrano were getting back together.

She still to this day has nothing but good things to say about Mr Marks.

His children look just like him. And she maintains they know nothing about why or how this happened.

Whole family delusional.

Wow. I guess sometimes it is easier to believe a comforting lie than a painful truth.
