I was reading up on James' case again, and something keeps nagging at me. The kayak was found on Wilson Island's beach, but has anyone discussed the potential current patterns in that area? I know ocean currents can be tricky, especially around islands. Could it be possible that James ended up much farther away than initially thought? Maybe searching in a different radius could yield some clues? It feels like this detail hasn't been fully explored, and it might help explain why search efforts came up short. Anyone here with local knowledge or experience?

I just read about James and can't stop thinking about how his kayak ended up on Wilson Island but with no trace of him. It's been over a decade, and I'm curious about any ocean currents in that area. Could they have carried the kayak there, or was it too close to the island to drift from Mitkof on its own? I hope someone with local knowledge or maritime experience can shed some light on this. Such a puzzling case.

Has anyone looked into the weather conditions on the day James disappeared near Mitkof Island? I know the waters there can get pretty rough, especially during winter months. I’m wondering if there was a sudden storm or unexpected change in weather that could have caught him off guard. The fact that his kayak turned up at Wilson Island makes me think it might have been a drift situation. Would love to hear from anyone local who might have insights on typical water behavior in that area around February.
