I’ve been thinking a lot about the tragic case of Brian Thomas lately. It just breaks my heart to see how these young lives are cut short before they've even had a chance to really begin. I wonder how his family and friends have been coping with the loss over all these years. It must be incredibly hard for them to see others move on while their questions remain unanswered. I've read that the area around North Broadway had been quite notorious for violence, which sadly makes it so difficult for witnesses to come forward. People are probably scared, and who can blame them? But until we can find a way to ensure witness safety, it seems like many cases such as Brian's will remain unsolved. The system just feels overwhelmed. It’s stories like Brian’s that remind us how crucial community support is. Maybe we can push for better resources and community programs to create a safer environment and help prevent future tragedies. My thoughts are with his loved ones, especially those who still hope for justice.
