I came across this case recently and it really got me thinking about how deeply interconnected small communities can be, especially around events like this. Corporal Lemon Harvey was a fixture in Thonotosassa, not just as a law enforcement officer but as a part of the fabric that makes up a community. Can you imagine the shockwaves this must have sent through the area back in 1981? The thought that something so heinous was orchestrated over a personal matter is just unsettling. It serves as a reminder of the unseen challenges and dangers that officers, like Corporal Harvey, face every day for the well-being of others. The community and, of course, his family—his wife and children—had to carry the burden of their loss. It’s comforting to know that justice was served, but it certainly doesn’t erase the pain they endured. If anyone here is from Thonotosassa, I'd love to learn more about how the community has remembered and honored Corporal Harvey over the years. How do you come together to support his family and celebrate his life and service?
