I can't stop thinking about how the lives of Anthony and Gale Sikora were senselessly taken. It's just devastating. I can’t even begin to imagine what their friends and family are going through. What strikes me the most is how close Candelaria was to Anthony. They were friends, and yet, mental illness twisted Candelaria's perception so severely that it led to this unthinkable tragedy. It’s a sobering reminder of how important it is to address mental health issues early and with care. This story sheds light on the gaps in mental health support, especially when it comes to warning signs that might seem minor until it is too late. If only more resources or interventions could have been available to someone like Candelaria, maybe this awful event could have been prevented. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy.
