I was reading about the unsolved case of Tommy Thomas, or "Trill" as he was known to his friends, and I've been thinking a lot about the broader impact of his murder. It’s incredibly frustrating to see these cases go cold, especially when you think about the families left with so many unanswered questions. The 1300 block of North Stricker Street, where Tommy was killed, seemed to be at the heart of so much turmoil back in 2015. It was a time when Baltimore was facing relentless violence, and those living in these neighborhoods were paying the highest price. I'm curious, does anyone remember if there were any community meetings or initiatives in response to Tommy’s death specifically? I wonder if there were any attempts by the local leaders to try and bridge the gap between residents and law enforcement back then. With so many young lives lost, including Tommy’s, I think it’s crucial to understand how communities tried to heal and maybe what more could have been done. My heart goes out to everyone who knew him, and I just hope one day his family gets the justice they deserve.
