I've been following Darin Williams' case since it first made the news, and something that really stands out to me is how this senseless act of violence has impacted not just his family, but the whole community. Darin seemed like a person who was completely invested in making his community a better place, especially with his ambitions to become a firefighter. That’s the kind of role model we need more of these days. I keep thinking about how cherished he was by those who knew him, and that one year old—what a strong little soul, surviving such a horrendous situation. It's clear that Darin put everything on the line to protect his child. That kind of bravery and love is just indescribable. It's truly upsetting that the perpetrators haven't been caught, despite the efforts of the Miami Gardens Police. I sincerely hope that as people continue to hear his story, someone who knows something can come forward. This family deserves closure and some sense of peace. Anyone out there with information, please do the right thing. Stay hopeful, everyone.
