I've been thinking a lot about Maurice Kosh's case, and one thing that really stands out to me is how this part of Southwest Baltimore has been affected by ongoing violence. It's particularly distressing because it seems like residents are just trying to go about their daily lives, but they're constantly overshadowed by fear and uncertainty. Maurice was so young, only 24, and had so much of his life ahead of him. What frustrates me is the lack of witnesses or leads. I get it, people might be scared of retaliation if they speak out, but how else can we break this cycle? We need some form of neighborhood watch or a stronger community network to help people feel safer when they come forward. Maurice's family deserves answers, and it’s sad knowing that there might be someone out there who knows something but feels unable to speak up. I hope more people see this and feel encouraged to help in any way they can, even if it's sharing Maurice's story or just being more vigilant in their community. Thoughts and prayers are great, but taking some form of action, no matter how small, could finally bring some peace to Maurice’s loved ones.
