There's something deeply unsettling about the role of surveillance in this tragedy. While it's commendable that the footage from the convenience store helped bring some justice for Clarence Allard, it leaves me thinking — how often does such surveillance footage go unseen or unused until it's too late? It’s a haunting reality of modern life that we’re often caught on camera, but sometimes, it’s not enough to prevent these terrible events from happening. My heart goes out to Allard's family and friends who’ve had to relive this nightmare through those images. I hope they find some peace knowing those responsible were held accountable, but it must be an ongoing struggle to reconcile with the fact that this evidence existed and yet, tragedy still struck. Does anyone else have thoughts or insight on how communities can better utilize surveillance tech for prevention rather than just post-incident investigation?
