Did anyone else see the old news segment featuring James Marion Hegidio's case from 1982? It aired back in the day, and I recently came across it while digging through some archives. One interesting point they made was about the area near the post office and grocery store on the morning he disappeared. Apparently, it was a busy morning, with delivery trucks and a lot of hustle and bustle. I'm curious if that added to any confusion for him, considering his memory issues. Plus, with it being the holiday season, maybe someone noticed something out of place but thought little of it amid all the activity. Wondering if anyone else thinks this could be why nobody saw where he or his car went?
Has anyone else looked into the theory that James Marion Hegidio might have accidentally driven into a body of water? Hear me out—since they already drained a nearby lake with no results, what if he ended up in a location that wasn't initially on the radar?
I read somewhere that there are numerous secluded ponds and smaller lakes in that area of Georgia. If James was experiencing memory issues, it's possible he could have taken a wrong turn, especially considering he had blackouts. A confused state plus those rural roads could easily lead someone off the beaten path. It's not unheard of for cars to be submerged in water for years without being discovered, especially if it's in a spot that's not actively searched.
Just seems like a lead that might be worth pursuing, especially if new technology or sonar equipment might make checking those areas easier now compared to back then. Maybe local residents familiar with less-known bodies of water could chime in?
