I’ve been following Shawn Reid’s case and it hits so close to home seeing yet another young life lost to gun violence. My heart goes out to his family and friends who have to endure this nightmare. What’s especially frustrating is the lack of progress in nabbing suspects or understanding the motives behind these crimes. It really sheds light on how deeply entrenched the issue of violence is in certain areas of Baltimore. You’d think, with it being such a violent period, there’d be something more concrete by now. Anyone else feel like the community needs to come together more to be the eyes and ears on the ground? At least that might help the police connect the dots if reliable info is so scarce. It’s just tough seeing the numbers climb and knowing each one is a person like Shawn.
