I’ve been thinking about the impact of Gregory Riddick’s murder on his neighborhood and the larger Baltimore community. It’s just devastating to see a young life cut short, and on top of that, to hear he was also the victim of a hit-and-run is just beyond words. It really feels like there are so many layers of injustice here. Riddick's family and friends have to deal with not just one, but two seemingly senseless acts perpetrated against him, and the lack of answers around his case must feel unbearable. The surveillance footage being available makes you wonder just how difficult it is to piece these things together and what more can be done to catch those responsible. It’s concerning that incidents like these keep happening without resolution and it leaves the community questioning its safety and the effectiveness of current measures in place. My heart truly goes out to Gregory’s family. No one should have to endure the pain of losing a loved one in such a violent and unresolved manner. I hope they can find the strength and support needed as they continue to seek justice for Gregory.
