I’ve been following the David Markiewitz case for a while, and one thing that has stuck with me is how this tragedy unfolded for his family. Imagine the confusion and fear Cheryl and Ryan must have felt as the hours passed without hearing from him, which was so unlike David. It's clear that he was deeply loved, and his family knew his habits well enough to quickly sense when something was wrong. David’s cabin was supposed to be his sanctuary, a place of peace after dedicating so many years to his patients. The fact that such violence shattered that peace is just devastating. I hope everyone who loved David finds some solace in the fact that Benjamin Ashley was finally stopped. It must be some relief to know that justice was served, even if it doesn't bring him back. My thoughts go out to Cheryl, Ryan, and all of David’s family and friends during what must be an incredibly difficult journey of healing. If anyone has more details on the cabin’s security or how law enforcement managed those encounters with Ashley before they finally caught up to him, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
