Hi everyone, I've been following Amy Jo O'Kane's case closely, and something that's been on my mind is how missing persons with histories of substance abuse sometimes get less attention from the media and public. It's like their struggles overshadow the fact that they are people with families who miss them desperately. Amy's been missing for over eight years, yet there's hardly been any significant buzz about her case. I'm curious if anyone here has seen other cases where this has happened and had any insights on what might help draw more attention to these cases? It just seems like if we can change the way these cases are perceived, we might help uncover more information—or at the very least, keep Amy's name and story alive. Maybe there are organizations or advocacy groups some of us could reach out to? Any thoughts or ideas are welcome!
