It's crucial for institutions to create spaces where mental health is openly discussed and prioritized. The measures CMC took, like counseling sessions and the vigil, seem like positive steps towards building a community where students feel supported. I hope other colleges take note and follow suit to ensure their students know they are not alone in their struggles. Remember, reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. My thoughts are with Eric’s family and friends, who are undoubtedly going through an indescribably difficult time.
