Hey everyone, I've been revisiting the case of Orlando Goines and can't help but feel deeply saddened by the circumstances surrounding it. Orlando was only 23, and the manner in which they were taken from this world is horrifying. I've been thinking a lot about the specific area where Orlando's body was discovered—a scrap yard in eastern New Orleans. It's such a remote and desolate location. Does anyone else find it chilling how often these types of places are associated with violent crimes, almost like the perpetrators choose them because they think no one will care enough to look there? It's disturbing to think that these places, which might seem abandoned or neglected, become silent witnesses to such tragic events.
I hope that by discussing these cases, we can bring more awareness to the types of environments that victims are left in. It’s a call for attention not only to the people directly involved but to the community at large to remain vigilant and committed to justice for individuals like Orlando. Would love to hear others' thoughts or insights on how we can address these environments in our safety discussions or community responses.
