Hi everyone, This case really hit me hard, and my thoughts are with Ronald Sanders' family and friends. It's horrifying to think about how someone could be going about their evening, trying to keep themselves and others safe during a pandemic, only to have their life brutally ended. I've been reading up on how William Hobdy was already on parole and wearing an ankle monitor. It just makes me wonder about the effectiveness of our current system in preventing repeat offenses. Shouldn't parole come with better checks and balances, especially for individuals with a history like Hobdy's? I can't imagine the frustration the community feels, knowing that someone with multiple felony convictions was still able to walk the streets with intentions as dangerous as his. It's alarming and upsetting. We really need to start looking at how these systems can be improved to prevent future tragedies like this. I hope this sparks some deeper conversations about corrective measures and how to keep our neighborhoods safer. What are your thoughts on how parole is being handled and what changes might help?
