Hey everyone, I've been following the case of John Squires and something has me really puzzled. I’ve been looking at the weather conditions around the time of the accident on American Creek. From what I’ve gathered, there were some reports of unexpected strong winds around that area in the days before the incident. Given that John Squires was an experienced rafter, could those winds have played a significant role in causing the raft to flip? I feel like this aspect hasn’t been discussed much. Has anyone else come across any local weather reports or firsthand accounts that might shed more light on this? It seems like a possible key element to consider in understanding what happened out there.

Has anyone else been following the case of John Squires? It's puzzling how they haven't found any trace of him after the rafting incident in Katmai. The search teams are top-notch, and considering his companions made it to safety, it's strange there's been no sign of John. Was the current especially strong in that area, or is there something about American Creek that makes recoveries particularly challenging? I'm curious if anyone familiar with rafting in that part of Alaska can comment on the usual conditions there.

Does anyone know if there's been any update on John's gear? I read in one of the articles that they recovered some personal items downstream. Were those his or maybe from the other guys? It might provide some clues about what happened right after the raft flipped. I've also been wondering about the water conditions that day. The weather in Alaska can be so unpredictable, and the water levels can rise quickly. It's troubling that they haven't found anything more definitive with all the resources deployed for the search. Just hoping the authorities have more luck soon.
