Finding Sarah Elizabeth Burton has been haunting the Joplin community for over five years now. I can’t wrap my head around how someone could simply vanish without a trace, especially with the searches conducted in both Joplin and nearby Pittsburg, Kansas. What sticks with me is that all they found were some of Sarah's belongings that her friend returned. It seems like such a small detail, but I wonder if there was anything else peculiar in the car or something else left behind that might have been overlooked? There’s so much speculation about foul play, especially since she was seen at that residence in northwest Joplin the morning after she disappeared. Could the key to solving this mystery lie in people who were at that residence? There's got to be more information out there. With her purse and even a shoe left in her friend’s car, it kind of paints a picture of a hastily made decision or something unexpected happening. It makes me so frustrated and sad for her family. It's reassuring to hear about the ongoing efforts and the reward offered, but how much longer until we get some real answers? Does anyone know if there have been any updates on possible suspects or other searches? This case has too many loose ends.
