I've been thinking a lot about the note found in Erik's vehicle. It's so tragic that it was mostly illegible, as it might have given us some insight into what was going on in his mind before these awful events unfolded. It must be incredibly frustrating for the investigators and the family to know there was a timeline but not be able to piece it all together clearly. Sometimes it's so hard to understand what drives people to commit such unimaginable acts, especially when it involves their own loved ones. I really hope that Nancy’s friends and family can find some peace amidst all this confusion and pain. This whole thing is just beyond comprehension, and my heart truly goes out to those poor children who are left in the aftermath. Props to the community for stepping up to help them—it's comforting to see people coming together in such dark times.

I recently read about the heartbreaking case involving Nancy Jean Bergum and her family in Erie County, and I just can't stop thinking about an aspect that hasn't been discussed much: the immense toll this must be taking on the local community, especially those neighbors and friends who interacted with the Bergum family regularly. It's unimaginable to think that people who saw and spoke with them days or even hours before the tragedy are now left trying to process such an immense loss. Nancy was known for her kindness and involvement in community events, and her sudden absence is surely felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. It's a stark reminder of how fragile life can be and the importance of looking out for one another, even when everything seems normal on the surface. My thoughts go out to everyone affected, especially the children, who face such a challenging path ahead. I hope the ongoing support efforts truly make a difference for them and that the community continues to come together in healing and remembrance. ?
