I can't help but thinking about the terrifying ordeal Eric Eugene Walker must have gone through during those last moments. Knowing that an off-duty police officer was in his car at the time makes me wonder about Mr. Walker's character. It seems like he was someone whose company people valued. I mean, it's not every day that someone has a close enough relationship with an officer that they find themselves hanging out together, even at mundane places like a gas station. What's been hard to digest is how senseless this crime was. The fact that the motive wasn't robbery or carjacking just makes it more confusing and painful for everyone involved. It’s such a reminder of how unpredictable and dangerous drug-induced violence can be. Walker's family is still living with the aftermath, and my heart goes out to them. Can anyone here provide insights on how the community has been rallying together to support them or any initiatives that might have been started in response to this tragedy?
