I was just reflecting on Darien Tabron's case and remembered reading about how the Coldstream-Homestead-Montebello neighborhood has grappled with crime for years. It’s so sad to think about the everyday fear people in the community live with and how that impacts their willingness to speak out. Imagine living in a place where witnessing something as horrific as Darien's murder becomes another reason to stay silent, for fear of repercussions or mistrust in the system. I truly feel for those who loved Darien and have had to live with unanswered questions all these years. Their resilience in the face of such tragedy is something worth recognizing, but it also points to the urgent need for stronger community ties and trust with law enforcement. Is there anyone here from Baltimore or similar neighborhoods who can share how they've worked to build that trust?
