It's so tragic to hear about Jerry Barnes’ passing. Having followed his career for a while, I'm struck by how dedicated he was to his role as a State’s Attorney, especially with the tough cases he often handled. It’s always puzzling how someone who appeared so strong and committed could be silently dealing with such personal struggles. The loss of anyone to suicide is such a profound reminder of the battles people might face beneath the surface that aren’t always visible to those around them. My heart goes out to Jerry's family, friends, and colleagues who are mourning his loss. I hope that his dedication to justice and his efforts in fighting crime in Carroll County will be remembered and celebrated, even as the community processes this difficult news.
