I’ve been really drawn to the Vallade case, and I can’t stop thinking about how Devin Sr.’s military background might have played into his relationship with his son. It’s heartbreaking to think about a father and son coming to such a tragic end. From what I’ve read, Devin Sr. served in Iraq. I wonder if the discipline and experiences from his service somehow clashed with how he tried to manage the household tension. Devin Jr. must have been under immense stress too, perhaps feeling like he’d never meet his father’s expectations, especially after the car accident incident. It’s such a gut-wrenching reminder of how underlying family issues can bubble over in the worst ways. My thoughts are with the family members as they try to cope with the aftermath.
