I just came across some information on John Thomas's case that I found quite striking. There have been reports that on the night of the shooting, a vigil was being held close by for another victim of violence in the area. It’s deeply saddening to think about how the community had gathered to mourn and support each other, only for another tragedy to unfold so nearby.
This really underlines how pervasive the issue of violence has become in Baltimore, especially considering how many lives have been cut short, like John and Marcquis. I can't even begin to imagine the anguish John's family and friends are still coping with, and it’s a stark reminder of how urgently we need to address these issues.
Has anyone else read about this, or have thoughts on how community efforts for reducing violence might be more effectively supported?
