I’ve been following the Kisha Blackwell case closely, and my heart goes out to her family and especially her children. I keep thinking about the impact this has on her daughter, who had to witness such an unfathomable tragedy right outside her home. I can’t imagine the emotional burden she carries, having been brave enough to call 911 during the chaos. It’s terrible to think that domestic violence escalated to this degree and that Kisha was trying to protect herself with a restraining order that wasn’t enough. I hope that raising awareness about cases like this will push for more effective protective measures for those at risk.
I just can't stop thinking about the bravery of Kisha Blackwell's daughter. Imagine being just 15 and going through something this horrific. Calling 911 in that moment showed so much courage, especially with two foster siblings there, likely needing her to stay strong. It's unfathomable to me how someone could violate a protective order to this extent. I hope that young girl's courage is recognized, and I truly hope she's getting all the support she needs to heal from this awful experience. I'm holding her in my thoughts, along with the whole community that's been impacted by such a senseless act.
