I came across a really strange detail about Rochelle Stubblefield's case that has me puzzled. According to some local reports around the time she disappeared, there were sightings of a woman fitting Rochelle's description wandering near abandoned buildings in Gary. It's always struck me as odd that if those sightings were accurate, why didn't anyone follow up or raise the alarm immediately? I know Gary isn't the safest place, and people might have been hesitant to get involved, but it seems like such a missed opportunity. I wonder if there's anyone who might have seen her and just didn't connect the dots because of fear or uncertainty. Has anyone else read about these sightings, and why they weren't taken more seriously? It feels like something crucial might have been overlooked in those early days.
