Could not stop thinking about the vigil that was held for Kevin Cash Valencia and the overwhelming sense of community support it inspired. It’s so moving to see how many people came together to honor him and stand beside his family during such an unimaginably difficult time. It makes me wonder about the ripple effects Kevin’s story has had on raising awareness around gun safety—especially the importance of checking if a firearm is unloaded. Seeing his classmates and teachers speaking so fondly of him was a stark reminder of how much potential and light has been lost. No family should ever have to endure such a tragedy, and it's my hope that sharing Kevin’s story will help prevent similar incidents in the future. Anyone else attended the vigil or heard any reflections from that gathering?
