On the evening of January 30, 2018, Diana Junge, a 48-year-old resident of Goodyear, Arizona, set out to witness a rare celestial event—a super blue blood moon. She informed her family of her plans to view the lunar phenomenon from the Granite Reef Recreation Area in the Tonto National Forest, northeast of Mesa. Diana, who had recently relocated from Colorado and was unfamiliar with the area, never returned home. Her disappearance sparked a search that, years later, remains unresolved.
Discovery of Her Vehicle
The following day, Diana's orange and black 2015 Jeep Cherokee was located in a trailhead parking lot near the Granite Reef Diversion Dam. Inside the vehicle, her cellphone was found turned off.
