A Routine Walk That Ended in Mystery

On the evening of October 24, 1991, 25-year-old Arlene Kazuko Tsuji set out for her customary walk through the Vienna Woods neighborhood near Cabrillo College in Aptos, California. Known for her disciplined routine, Arlene was last seen around 7:00 p.m. conversing with a man on Haas Drive, approximately half a mile from her residence on Wilshire Drive. The Immediate Search and Investigation

Alarmed by her uncharacteristic absence, Arlene's landlord reported her missing. Her disappearance shocked the community, as there were no signs of personal issues or reasons for her to vanish voluntarily.

Transition from Missing Person to Unsolved Homicide

Despite exhaustive efforts, no significant leads emerged, and Arlene's case remained unsolved. In 2018, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office reclassified her case as an "Unsolved Homicide," acknowledging the likelihood of foul play, even though her remains have never been found. This reclassification aimed to renew public interest and encourage anyone with information to come forward. ...Read More
