On November 21, 1992, Randall Scott Janisch, a 35-year-old mariner from Ketchikan, Alaska, embarked on what was expected to be a routine tugboat operation in the remote waters of Farragut Bay, located in Frederick Sound. Tragically, the vessel reportedly capsized and sank, leading to Janisch's disappearance. Despite extensive search efforts, neither Janisch nor the tugboat was ever recovered, leaving a void in the lives of his family and the tight-knit maritime community.
