A Quiet Saturday in Miami Turns Mysterious

On February 11, 2012, 45-year-old Juan Martinez Gonzalez was last seen leaving a cafeteria and sports bar near the intersection of SW 192nd Street and Krome Avenue in Miami, Florida. Known by nicknames such as “Negro,” “Juanito,” and “Cuñado,” Juan was a familiar face in the Redlands area and frequented neighborhoods like Homestead, Hialeah, Kendall, and Miami Gardens. That evening, he departed in his dark blue 1999 Ford F-150 extended cab pickup truck, notable for its light-colored tailgate and tinted windows, bearing Florida license plate 418TJV.

A Brief Sighting, Then Silence

The following day, a neighbor reported seeing Juan in his pickup truck, which had tires in the bed. Juan mentioned he was going to have new tires installed. This sighting is the last confirmed interaction anyone had with him. Since then, there have been no communications, sightings, or financial activities linked to Juan, leaving his family and friends in a prolonged state of uncertainty.

Personal Details and Distinctive Features

Juan was described as a medium-complected, biracial (African-American/Hispanic) male, standing between 5'9" and 5'11" tall and weighing between 190 and 210 pounds. He had graying black hair, brown eyes, and was known to sport a mustache or goatee. Distinctive tattoos bearing the names "Caida" and "Jovany" adorned his left arm and the left side of his chest, respectively. His typical attire included cowboy shirts, jeans, cowboy boots, and gold stud earrings.

The Investigation and Public Appeals

The Miami-Dade Police Department's Special Victims Bureau, Missing Persons Squad, took charge of the investigation. Despite efforts, including public appeals and the dissemination of missing person flyers, leads have been scarce. Authorities have urged anyone with information to contact Detective S. Gowdie or any detective of the Missing Persons Squad at (305) 715-3300, or to reach out to Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477). ...Read More
