In the early hours of August 19, 1995, Antonio Rojas Ortega was last seen at his residence near 19th Street and Van Buren Street in Phoenix, Arizona. At approximately 1:30 a.m., the 22-year-old vanished without a trace, leaving behind a mystery that has endured for nearly three decades. Despite efforts by law enforcement and the community, Ortega's disappearance remains unsolved, with few details available to shed light on what transpired that night.
Born on May 10, 1973, in Mexico, Antonio Ortega was a Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes. He stood between 5 feet 10 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed between 180 and 190 pounds. Distinguishing features included a scar on his right arm, a mole on his left cheek, a pierced left ear, and a tattoo of three dots between his left thumb and index finger. He also had a previously fractured right ankle. Ortega may have used the last name Rojas. At the time of his disappearance, he was known to consume alcohol.
Following Ortega's disappearance, the Phoenix Police Department initiated an investigation. Detective Jared D'Addabbo has been listed as a contact person for the case. Despite the passage of time, the case remains open, with authorities continuing to seek information that could lead to a resolution. The case has been registered with the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) under case number 3922 and with the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) under case number M-343864871.
Over the years, various organizations and websites have worked to keep Ortega's case in the public eye. The Charley Project, a database dedicated to missing person cases, features a profile on Ortega, providing details about his disappearance and physical characteristics. The Doe Network, an international volunteer organization devoted to assisting in cold cases, also includes Ortega's case in its listings. These platforms aim to generate leads by disseminating information to a broader audience....Read More
