On October 27, 1984, 17-year-old Tinze Lucinda Huels left her Hillsborough County home in Tampa, Florida, intending to visit a laundromat. Later that evening, she met a female friend, and together they went to the Char-Pal Lounge on East Busch Avenue for drinks. At the bar, Tinze engaged in conversation with a man named Larry Moore, who claimed to own a sign-making and cleaning business. He offered her a job, which she agreed to start in two days. Her friend eventually left the bar, leaving Tinze with Moore. This was the last confirmed sighting of her.
The following morning, Tinze's car was discovered in the Char-Pal Lounge parking lot. Inside were clean, folded laundry, but her keys were missing. Two weeks later, her purse was found in the men's restroom at the Busch Gardens Zoo Campground, containing her cash, driver's license, and marriage certificate. There was no sign of Tinze.
In the early hours following Tinze's disappearance, Larry Moore and another man were found asleep in their vehicle and arrested for marijuana possession and carrying a concealed weapon. Tinze was not with them, and at that point, she hadn't been reported missing. When questioned later, Moore claimed he didn't know her whereabouts. It's unclear whether he was ever considered a suspect in her disappearance.
In April 1992, Tinze's daughter received a call from a woman claiming to be her mother. The woman explained that she had run away in 1984 to escape the responsibilities of marriage and motherhood and had been living in Tennessee and Arkansas under the name Amanda. The family invited her back, and she lived with them until September 1992.
