A Familiar Face in Plymouth
Alfred Pearson, affectionately known as "Sugarfoot," was a well-known figure in his Plymouth, Florida community. Standing at 6'1" and weighing between 160 to 180 pounds, the 75-year-old African American man was often seen wearing his signature white t-shirt, blue jeans, and black sneakers. His gray hair, brown eyes, and eyeglasses were distinctive features that made him easily recognizable to neighbors and friends alike. Despite his friendly demeanor, Pearson faced significant health challenges, including dementia and an irregular heartbeat, which made his well-being a constant concern for those around him.
The Day He Disappeared
On November 26, 2017, Alfred Pearson was discharged from the hospital and returned to his home on Dew Berry Avenue, near the intersection of U.S. Highway 441 and Hermit Smith Road in Apopka, Florida. Later that day, around 4:00 PM, he was last seen walking away from his residence. Despite previous instances where Pearson had wandered off, he had always returned or been found shortly after.
