A Family Outing Turns Tragic

On May 20, 1946, a seemingly ordinary family outing in Ogden, Utah, took a tragic turn that would leave a family shattered and a community searching for answers. Frances Taylor Shurtleff Sessions, a 26-year-old mother, set out on a hike with her six-year-old son, Lee Albert Sessions, and her six-year-old nephew to Bear Cave, located east of her father's farm in the 100 block above Harrison Boulevard.
