A Life Cut Short
On August 26, 2009, the vibrant life of Tyli'a "Na Na Boo" Mack, also known legally as Joshua Mack, was tragically ended. At approximately 2:38 p.m., Tyli'a was brutally stabbed in the 200 block of Q Street NW, Washington, D.C. Despite the efforts of first responders, she succumbed to her injuries, leaving a void in the community that knew and loved her.
The Day of the Incident
The afternoon attack shocked the neighborhood. Witnesses described a chaotic scene as Tyli'a and another individual were assaulted in broad daylight. The assailant, described as a medium-complexioned Black male in his 30s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build and short black hair, fled the scene wearing a blue shirt and blue pants.
