On the night of August 9, 2010, Gainesville authorities responded to a distress call at 1421 NE 20th Place. Upon arrival, they discovered 28-year-old Patrick Williams on the front porch, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate first aid and CPR efforts, Williams was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to Shands Hospital.
