A Tragic Afternoon in Southeast D.C.
On Thursday, March 18, 2004, at approximately 2:45 pm, the tranquility of the 1600 block of U Street, SE, in Washington, D.C., was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Residents and passersby were startled to discover that 32-year-old Morris Snead had been shot multiple times in broad daylight. Despite the immediate response from emergency services, Snead succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Crime Scene and Initial Investigation
The crime scene presented a challenging puzzle for investigators. There were no immediate witnesses who could provide a clear account of the events leading up to the shooting.
