A Tragic Night in Downtown San Diego
On the evening of December 23, 1981, the festive atmosphere of downtown San Diego was shattered by a heinous crime. Linda Neukum, a resident of the Marion Hotel, was last seen leaving the establishment late that night. Shortly thereafter, around 11 p.m., a passerby discovered her staggering out of an alley near 300 Market Street. Despite immediate medical attention, Linda succumbed to multiple stab wounds during surgery. Before losing consciousness, she managed to convey that her assailant was a white male.
The Elusive Suspect
Witnesses reported seeing a potential suspect fleeing northbound on Second Street around the time of the attack. The individual was described as a white male, standing between 5'8" and 5'11", with a medium build and dark, short or collar-length hair. He was dressed in loose-fitting dark clothing.
