A Promising Life Cut Short
On May 15, 2016, the Long Beach community was shaken by the tragic shooting of 37-year-old Victor Eugene Alford. Discovered near 61st Street and Orange Avenue with a gunshot wound to his upper torso, Alford was immediately transported to a local hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries ten days later, leaving behind a grieving family and a community in search of answers.
Initial Investigations and Public Appeals
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) launched an intensive investigation to identify those responsible for Alford's death. Witnesses reported seeing a red Mercedes Benz and a gray Volvo SUV with Nevada license plates fleeing the scene immediately after the incident.
