The disappearance of Peter Bancarz in 1966 remains one of Portland's most perplexing cold cases. Despite extensive investigations, his fate is still unknown, leaving a trail of unanswered questions.
Peter Bancarz was a 34-year-old Canadian citizen residing near Sherwood, Oregon. Described as a white male, 5'6" tall, weighing 155 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes, Peter was known for his active participation in local hockey leagues.
On December 28, 1966, neighbors observed Peter driving away from his home in the afternoon. Later that evening, around 11:30 PM, he was seen leaving the Silver Skate Ice Arena in Portland after a league hockey game. This was the last confirmed sighting of him.
In the days following Peter's disappearance, neighbors noticed his car backed into his driveway and an associate entering and exiting his residence. This individual claimed that on December 29, he and Peter worked on Peter's car.
