A Love Story Cut Short
On February 14, 2000, the lives of two young high school sweethearts, Nicholas "Nick" Kunselman and Stephanie Hart-Grizzell, were tragically cut short. Nick, 15, and Stephanie, 16, were students at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Their bond, strengthened in the aftermath of the Columbine High School massacre less than a year prior, was evident to all who knew them. They found solace in each other's company, navigating the challenges of their teenage years together.
The Fateful Night
On that fateful Valentine's Day, Nick was working his shift at a local Subway sandwich shop located at 6768 West Coal Mine Avenue, just a few blocks south of their high school. Stephanie had come by to wait for him to finish his shift, a routine that was familiar to them.
