Larry Bland, aged 24, was found dead on November 17, 2007, in his home in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood. He was killed execution-style, with multiple gunshot wounds. Bland was reportedly part of the Trinity United Church of Christ, where he was among a group of openly gay men. The church was led by Pastor Jeremiah Wright, who was later known for his connection to Barack Obama.
