A 27 year old father is shot in his home when his family is out of town In the summer of 1994, the life of 27-year-old Marlin 'Marty' Dwayne Bradley, a White male, was tragically cut short in his Searcy, Arkansas, home. A truck driver for a local company, Marty had made plans for the future, requesting time off in early August for what he told his employer was 'family business,' believed to be a planned trip to Louisiana to join his wife, Kisa Bradley, and their children.
On the morning of July 29, 1994, well before sunrise, Kisa, the children, and a
juvenile family member departed from the family's residence on Eastline Road, heading south to Louisiana without Marty. The day unfolded quietly until the afternoon when Marty was discovered inside his home after he failed to show up for work. He was found deceased in his bedroom, lying on his bed with a single gunshot wound to his face. Investigators determined the wound was inflicted by a. 38 caliber bullet.
The White County Sheriff's Office immediately launched a homicide investigation into the brutal slaying that had shocked the community. Soon after, they requested the assistance of the Arkansas State Police's Criminal Investigations Division to lend their expertise to the case. Despite the combined efforts of both law enforcement agencies, the investigation was met with significant challenges. Leads were scarce, and for decades, no suspects have been publicly identified or arrested in connection with the murder.
