On May 29, 2010, Mark A. Pekovitch, a 39-year-old resident of Chicago, Illinois, was fatally shot in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. The incident occurred on a Saturday evening, just after Memorial Day weekend. Pekovitch was standing in the street near 3251 West Division Street when the shooting happened. He sustained a gunshot wound to the head, which led to his death two days later.
