Darterius Madison, aged 17, was fatally shot on June 17, 2010, in the West Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. The shooting occurred late in the night in the yard of his home, located in the 6300 block of South Hamilton Avenue. Madison was struck by bullets in both his back and pelvis just before midnight. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on June 18, 2010.
